Digging for Victory

womaninsnow 300x199 Digging for Victory

As you can imagine, the farm has resembled a big, fluffy marshmallow this week, except not as sweet or tasty… And probably not as easy to dip in hot chocolate. Ho hum, you can’t have everything.  Upshot of the freezing temperatures is that some of the produce is frozen in the ground *groan.* Beetroot (Golden Chioggia, Cheltenham and Regular) are now all loose but bunches will be back once we’re able to dig for victory. Beetroot marshmallows… now there’s a thought.

Tarragon and Baby Watercress have made a come-back and despite this non-spring like blip, Spring Greens are available.

We have a few casualties, however: Concorde Pears, Cavalo Nero, Micro Greek Cress, Bronze Fennel, Sea Buckthorn and Bunched Baby Carrots.

News to make those finger and toes tingle (not in a frostbite way)… Pink Fur Potatoes, Jonagold Apples and Crown Prince squash have arrived.
