Pies, pies, pies

IMG 3093 web 548x730 Pies, pies, pies

I’m at the café as much as I can, although now we’re starting to film the Masterchef semi-finals. Still I’m down about three or four days a week.

My favourite dishes are the iman biyaldi, the quiches, pies and the puddings. Sadly none of my partners seem to like my saffron cauliflower, I will get my revenge. Poor Tim, the chef, is almost on his knees and said he’s never made so many pies in his life.

We are busier than we planned to be, so we’ve drafted in some talent, especially at the front. I’ve now been told off a couple of times by the assistant manager for getting in the way and messing the systems up. I can’t help it, I like joining in. He suggested I just chat to people instead and don’t do anything complex or professional looking.

I am looking forward to changing the look slightly at the front, we want to introduce more veg for sale and I think a few jars of tasty goodies would go down well. Spring is just around the corner, loads of great veg, hurry up Mr blue sky.

Congrats on the new place I read Fay Maschler’s review and I think (dfficult to tell sometimes) you were getting the thumbs up.

Will be down there one of these days as a mystery shopper (dressed consciously as a mystery shopper in order to ensure best service/food)!

    All the best

Congratulations! Fantastically unpretentious menu. Next time i’m in london i’ll certainly be popping in.
Just one thing, how about adding roast lamb and mint sauce to the sunday lunch menu? Ooh, and how about sticky toffee pudding and clotted cream for pudding?

    PIES ARE LAAAAVLY!!

You have a small cult following amongst some Liverpool supporters, dont be surprised to see a gang of us invade your shop at some point in the future when the mighty Reds are in Laaandan town!

Tracey & Greg – Travelled all the way from the North to come into the cafe at the weekend, came in Sat lunchtime. Food was brill, pies were lovely and we finished with the cheese plate (no bread needed with this maybe a cracker or melba style toast) and the crumble, which was to die for. The quality of the veg was outstanding, and the beef simply melted :-)

The staff were a credit to you, they were ace, especially the tall chapp, very professional, but not too over formal,

was just a shame there were a lot of kids, not being kept under very good control by their parents :-( , maybe segregate families up the stairway and adults down, or the other way around I am not sure?

I wish I lived nearer, would be in all of the time for eats or just vegies and things nice…………

    Thanks and good luck

    Tracey
